Glazing recipes - coral and red

I have learned how to do all the glazing techniques, but I can't figure out the recipes for colors. Th elighter ones seem easy enough, but when you want to achieve a darker effect, it gets difficult. For example, I am trying to come up with a color to match a fabric which has a coral background with a red leafy pattern. I am trying to figure out how to mix a glaze which is basically coral but has hints of red. I have chosen the color from paint chips, but they end up being pale pink or orange on the wall. I guess I need something browner, but I am lost.
