Subject: Antique Look for new paneling

I need some advice on how to paint my new "beadboard" paneling. I want an old fashioned look and I'm thinking of the weathered look shown on this site. Not too rustic -- sort of "well-kept old". I think I want a dark color with a white/off-white on top. It should be easy to get dark color into the recesses in the bead board and if I dry brush the lighter color I should be able to keep that color out of the recesses. My questions are: does this sound like it will work? and do I need to use any special kind of paint (thinner or thicker than normal?)
