Hand-painted Delft tiles

The loose un-even quality of this faux technique makes painted Delft tiles an ideal decorative effect for the beginner or inexperienced do-it-yourselfer.

Irregular lines and hand painted renderings add character and old world charm, easily achieved without any prior painting experience.

 Essential mural tips and techniques

What is the difference between using latex and acrylic paints when creating a wall mural? Which is the best one and why?

Acrylic is a term typically associated with artist paints while latex is more commonly referred to in house and interior painting. You buy a gallon of latex paint from the paint store to paint your walls, while you buy artist acrylic paints to paint a picture.

Latex and Acrylic paints are essentially the same thing. Both are water based paints. The consistencies and chemical make up are slightly different, but when painting murals you can interchange latex and acrylic paints to suit your needs. They are compatible with each other.
